My first was in the Fifth Grade, I walked down the hill to Church from the street next to the mountain, ate a sandwich between meetings and took a nap on the couch; a blizzard had called off Sacrament Meeting one Sunday while I slept, I woke up to a dark Church and quickly left to go back up the hill to home, I slid past the Grade School to the end of this fence; covered in ice, one eye already shut, I closed the other and prayed, put my Bible in my coat and reached out from here – to me a sacred spot:

The scholar Walter Wink, in his book Engaging the Powers: Discernment and Resistance in a World of Domination, interprets the passage as ways to subvert the power structures of the time.[2] He says that at the time of Jesus, striking someone deemed to be of a lower class with the back of the hand was used to assert authority and dominance. If the persecuted person “turned the other cheek,” the discipliner was faced with a dilemma. The left hand was used for unclean purposes, so a back-hand strike on the opposite cheek would not be performed. An alternative would be a slap with the open hand as a challenge or to punch the person, but this was seen as a statement of equality. Thus, by turning the other cheek the persecuted was demanding equality.

I just bought this.
A man sought out a respected old sage and said, “O wise one, I would like to know what heaven and hell are like.”
The sage led the man to two doors.
He opened one of the doors, and the man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the man’s mouth water.
The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms. Each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.
The man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The wise man said, “You have seen hell.”
They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew that made the man’s mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons strapped to their arms, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.
The man said, “I don’t understand!”
“It is simple,” said his venerable guide. “It requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves”
[Interesting fact: This parable appears in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Japanese and Chinese folk legends. Food for thought . . . (pun intended).]

I used this in management training as an exercise. I asked them to create other spoon scenarios.
Here is a couple of their ideas: Broken spoons and glue that would fix one other unknown person’s spoon, a variation was the person knew whose glue they needed, could and couldn’t ask directly. Another was short spoons and extenders that did not fit their spoon; variations were enough extenders for one spoon which was shared. Too small spoons to eat enough and others with too big of spoons to fit into the kettle, each could only use one spoon at a time.
They had many more, each class’ context was unique.
I know who provided the soup that I ate and did not hunger again.

A hurray from an E-Systems Raytheon retiree. While at Raytheon I volunteered to help with their Women’s conference, they asked me to chair the speakers committee; gave me a chance to talk to the conference committee about a few Navy female Commanders I had been supporting their rise in rank. In the end we invited them and had a speakers with free books for all. I choose to sit at a table in the back but still had to stand to be thanked but invited my committee to stand and got a laugh for still standing out. What did I get, I got to meet some of my Navy Heroes in person.

I found this to be helpful in many ways. I had a friend at E-Systems Raytheon who convinced me of these, I would sit by him in meetings as he mind mapped across day long engineering presentations. I used mind maps for a four graduate level class series (12 hours) providing certified object orientated engineers with classes in object-orientated component engineering, object-oriented embedded artificial intelligence, object-orientated rapid application development…

The chain can be how we follow. From my experience, no other church has more programs’ chains, more leaders trying to start chains… what is needed is more links. Each link needs to use all resources available – Holy Spirit, Priesthood… – to exceed themselves.
The examples are all Prophets. They need your support and your ideas. Send them a card of thanks. Send them an idea. Either directly for thanks or ask Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus Christ if He agrees to past your idea along.

I said that I would thank Him; asking about His experience, as I felt His awareness very intensely, as I was being rescued, once again. About how He did specific things that from my side still appear impossible?
I was asked about my enthusiasm. I explained that my normal experience is praying reverently to my Father in Heaven, listening to the Holy Spirit; in this case, chatting with my Savior would be too exciting. His awareness showed that He was there, when not expected. I care about His experience from His perspective. Was it as exciting for Him?

I like to try to figure out who is speaking to whom. I have found I remember the scriptures the more personal I try to picture what is happening.
I like to pray that Heaven Father (in Jesus Name) will let them know I am thankful for them, supportive to them as our Father knows that I will be praying in their support – later – asking for their support – earlier -!as they live their lives and have their earthly trials and triumphs. In Junior High as I studied our Father and came to see His power in seeing the past, present and future; that at least they will eventually see I tried to pray in a timely manner in support of them, maybe both.
D&C 130:7 “But they reside in the presence of God, on a globe like a sea of glass and fire, where all things for their glory are manifest, past, present, and future, and are continually before the Lord.”.

What you won’t find in Feedly is a list of article suggestions and recommendations. Finding appropriate content is ultimately your responsibility; that’s fine for RSS enthusiasts, but a little overwhelming for newcomers. When you first launch the app, don’t be surprised if you’re greeted by a blank page.
However, once you’ve created a critical mass of feeds though, the app is incredibly powerful. It’s incredibly quick to refresh and supports multiple layout types, so you specify exactly how much text or imagery is shown on-screen.

I remember these, a man at the door wanted to set a return time to argue Faith or Works, I requested Both. He said, I won, we handed him a Book of Mormon. We returned to find out he had read it straight through. A couple days later, he introduced himself to the Bishop asking to be baptised, showing him his Articles of Faith and Marvelous Work books he had read. The font was full of water from Saturday, the Bishop interviewed him and during Sacrament pulled out a Priest, baptized him, interrupted the speaker, called us up, we confirmed him, and gave him the microphone to share his testimony, instead he offered a prayer of thanks. One of those times we skipped to a house in an area we probably were getting to, going door to door. He was house visiting for a friend. He moved home where there were no members. I heard later he had started a Branch.
